Cycle Dropout Test


The general consumer solid state disk (SSD) experiences several abnormal power outages, which easily increases the risk of data loss and damage. Therefore, the power-off protection algorithm of SSD plays a very important role.

The effective data protection is realized by means of software and hardware. When the voltage detects abnormal power failure, the controller will be informed to complete all write actions during the effective operation period and complete all preparations before power failure.

Power restart

Repeated power on and off will cause great wear and tear to the general solid state. In severe cases, the SSD may be damaged, resulting in data corruption or failure to boot. Therefore, stable operation after repeated power restarts is an important indicator of the reliability and stability of SSD.

Restart test standard:

1、The power supply is controlled by software to simulate the environment;

2、Batch test;

3、The number of product restarts is 5000-10000.


Temperature cycling


SSD can operate normally in harsh conditions, and anti-aging testing is the key. By environmental simulation, the functional reliability of the product can be tested during the specified life.

Test standard:

1、Ambient temperature:

Consumption grade: 85 ° high temperature - 20 ° low temperature;

Industrial grade: 85 ° high temperature - 40 ° low temperature.

2、Read and write the full load in the temperature simulation box;

3、The duration is 168 hours (one week)

4、At the end of the cycle, it was stored at room temperature, and the full disk was brushed to detect whether there was any bad block;

5、After the room temperature storage test is completed, perform "REFLOW" (three times at a high temperature of 250°) to check whether the data is lost or damaged.


Compatibility test


The performance of solid state disk (SSD) involves many dimensions, such as processor, graphics card, power supply, software and so on. Compatibility testing is the key to how to maximize the performance of SSDs.
